Dear Azarius customer, We want to inform you about the latest news in the 'smart' world. And we would like to tell you about our newest products. Will the Dutch soft drugs policy survive the European constitution? ------------------------------------------------------------------- On the first of June there will be a referendum in the Netherlands, which enables Dutch citizens to vote about the European constitution. Not unimportant to make a proper decision is the answer to the question above. "I will not touch the Netherlands drugs policy", so promised Euro commissioner of justice, freedom and safety, Frattini to several Dutch newspapers on may 6. "And the European constitution will not change that." Moreover, the police and justice paragraph in the new constitution makes clear that the adoption will not be without risks. Not the content but definitely the decision-making will change. The member states lose their right of veto. A majority of member states can, supported by a majority in the European Parliament, undermine the Dutch soft drugs policy without our government or parliament being able to do something about it. New drug 'Explosion' banned --------------------------- AMSTERDAM - Explosion, the chemical drug that could be purchased in many Dutch smart shops in the last few months, has now been banned. According to the inspection, Explosion is a non-registered medicine and these cannot be sold. The new drug is offered as an air freshener in small tubes which contain vanilla oil and methylon. Methylon is somewhat similar to MDMA, both in chemical structure and in its effects. MDMA is the active substance in XTC pills. Up until now there is little knowledge about the actual effects of the drug. Experts are still doing research. The risks of the drug seem to be the same as those of XTC.
