Verbot der Bong?

Australien - Oppositionsführer Ted Baillieu sagte, eine Koalition würde den Verkauf von Bongs verbieten um den Schaden für Familien in Viktoria durch Cannabis zu vermindern.

"Cannabis ist eine gefährliche Droge, die jedes Jahr zu ernsten mentalen und physischen Schäden führt" sagte Baillieu. "Das Verbot des Verkaufs von Bongs würde ein deutliches Zeichen sein, dass Cannabis eine gefährliche und schädliche Droge ist."

Die Regierung von Viktoria unterstützt das Verbot nicht.

"Solang John Brumby [Premier von Victoria] erlaubt, dass Bongs in über 100 Geschäften verkauft werden, werden Jugendliche und Familien in Victoria weiterhin unter der schädlichen Wirkung von Cannabis leiden," sagte Baillieu. "Die Bürger können keiner Regierung vertrauen, die angiebt hart gegen Drogen vorzugehen, diesen wichtigen Schritt um den Drogenkonsum zu verringern aber verweigert."

as for this whole arguement... i dont think it will do anything apart from cause slight inconvenience and perhaps a small loss of business to some shops.
if people want to smoke, they'll smoke. what about pipes? can they still sell them?
there's always a joint.
and if people really want a bong they'll just buy one off the internet. worst case scenario: it comes labelled as an ornament... oh no!

this is just stupid. political parties should lose seats just for wasting time coming up with stuff like this!

Like that's going to matter to Bong smoking stoners: Take a plastic soda bottle, make 2 holes in the screw cap and pull 2 straws through the holes; a short one and a long one. Voila; A bong.

well all i have to say is if they ban it, buy all the stores out and save them for future use, and then start making your own its not that hard i work in a store that sells bongs, all you need is a diamond drill head, downstem and grommet and a bowl of course

Mr. Baillieu can't be serious. Active politicians constantly take care not to make foul out of themselves in public, tho there seem to be an exception or two.
P.S.: I use to make pretty functional bongs using glass jam jars etc. I remember being caught for the first time (parents) smoking pot and I was using first home made bong. :) Unforgetable - I mean the bong.
